ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming

Troy accepted a 2012-2013 ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming at the League of American Orchestras 68th National Conference in St. Louis, recognizing his programs for the YOSA Philharmonic. This is Troy’s eighth ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming.

YOSA was selected for the first place Award for Programming of Contemporary Music in the Youth Orchestra category, having featured the works of contemporary composers like Arturo Márquez, Bright Sheng, and Pulitzer Prize winner Jennifer Higdon in its 2012-2013 season. YOSA also presented world premieres of new compositions by two YOSA students, Katie Hattier and Darian Thomas.
