Subscription Debut with the Vermont
Symphony
One of the highlights of Troy's 2007-08 season will be his May 3
concert with the Vermont
Symphony Orchestra. (Although Troy has conducted the VSO several times
over the last decade, this will be his first appearance on the subscription
series.)
Sixth ASCAP
Award
The American Symphony Orchestra League announced that Troy's
programs for the Vermont Youth Orchestra's 2006-07 season earned him his sixth ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming of Contemporary
Music.
Tenure as Music Director Begins in Montpelier
Critical
acclaim greeted Troy's first concert as Music Director of the Montpelier
Chamber Orchestra.
VYO China Tour was a Success
Troy led the Vermont Youth Orchestra on a two-week
concert tour of China in June and July 2007, featuring viola soloist Phillip
Ying of the renowned Ying Quartet.
Lehmann Foundation Board of
Advisors
Troy was elected to the Lotte
Lehmann Foundation's Board of Advisors at the foundation's annual spring
meeting on 31 April 2006 in New York City. What

In October 2005, Troy participated in a panel discussion
on the future of classical music with Fred Child from NPR's Performance
Today. Vermont Public Radio has posted the
discussion on their web site, and it is worth listening to -- even
though it's a pretty huge mp3 file...
How Did You Celebrate?
In honor of Troy's tenth anniversary as Music Director of
the Vermont Youth Orchestra, Governor James Douglas proclaimed April 17,
2005, as Troy Peters Day in Vermont. It's a bit lofty, but

NPR Radio Coverage
The September 12, 2004, edition of National Public Radio's Weekend
